About BookHound 7ce
I tried finding a software to organzie my books with the possibility to even sell some of them if I decide to. I would have loved to use BookHound again. There was a free version a couple years ago.
BookHound Version 7 called Community Edition.
Did everything I needed so I tried to find it but it was impossible. When searching for alternatives I realized that basically every software has switched to a subscription model.
I would have loved to try out maybe BookHound Version 8 but could not find an installer anywhere to try it out.
Basil Software looked really nice (saw a video on youtube of version 4.3.9) as well but if I understand it right, it is an online only sotware and again only with subscricption.
I could not find any useful information about BookTrakker that has been suggested to me on the internet. Seems to be an online only Software.
Also saw Booklog and BookManager but this seems to be far too professional for my needs and thus too expensive.
Something I might take into consideration in the future would be WinMentor. They seem to have a license with a one time purchase.
Asked for the installer from Bibliopolis but they refused to share the file.
I went on to search for the installer for BookHound and could finally find it on some old HardDrive. I think it is rather sad that it is not available anymore anywhere to download. I am not expecting support but still a download option would be nice… then again… for some people it might just be enough and they might not buy the new product.
This has been a rough few weeks to dig throug thousands of downloaded files and backups. 😊
Please don’t ask for the install file, I don’t want to get in trouble with the people from Biblio and Bibliopolis for distributing their software. But if you need help with anything regarding IT-Services, please write us an e-mail.
